I now understand the necessity of medication to help with mental health disorders. It also aids me in sleeping. Still, it can be hard to get the day started and continue with my day. It can feel frustrating especially when the meds are really working and then proceeding with what I need to do. There can be times when I just want to give up, but ultimately, I know that is not a choice.

Last year, I understood the value of all of my mental health medications and adequate sleep. Still, there has always been a struggle in starting the day. It has been difficult to keep up with things. I often find it hard not to give into feeling sorry for myself. It can be hard to get started and decide where to go or what to do. In the end, it is worth it. Everyone around me can be glad that I am taking care of myself and putting in the necessary effort.

When anxiety counteracts with starting your day, it can hinder the process of getting your day started. I often think about what hinders me. These are the obstacles that prevent me from doing what is needed to get things done. I often want to pass blame. I choose the easy path because the anxiety is acting up. It makes me want to flee from a situation. At the moment, this can be challenging because of the anxiety it produces.

In these moments, we must be kind to ourselves. We should show ourselves the grace that is needed. We must remind ourselves of our past achievements. We have tackled many things that were equally or even more challenging than starting the day. It can be hard to see through the grogginess we experience when the night meds are waning off. Adjusting ourselves upon waking up can also be challenging. Despite this, it is important to remember how much we are needed. We are valued when we have to head out and do what is expected of us.

We are not always the friendliest in the mornings. It is important to keep going. Be mindful of our surroundings and the schedule we have to face during the day. This will help keep us well. It can be hard to see our destination. We want and need to start our day. We must not allow ourselves to oversleep or neglect self-care.

But I have to push through. I know that I am needed. I want to be where I need to be. Getting started can be hard because of what brings us down and makes us groggy. Yet, we are stronger when we push through and do what is necessary to take care of ourselves. Even when it seems impossible, it is always important to care for ourselves. We must push through those hard moments, even when it comes to starting our day.
