Taking A Chance.
Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone and do something different.
Even if we cannot have every minute detail planned or within our control.
Even if we do not know what to expect.
Sometimes the social norms of life need us to take that chance.
Take that risk and go for it.
For over two decades an adjoining community that I have spent many days riding through whether it was in a school van, a program van, public transportation or just passing through with my family for half my life going to an infamous shopping village that no longer exists has a community festival in what I often referred to as the “town common”.
Parking did not go as planned and we had to take the “shuttle” which was a passenger van, something I have used in some form in 30 years of my being in this world.
Spending time in the town common viewing the boots, supporting causes like my employer, my coworkers barbeque business, the community senior group and the town library.
Listening to some pretty amazing music in an entertainment tent and connecting with some dear friends instead of having to block the aisles with our shopping carts at the local supercenter.
Touring the town’s renovated community library and having conversations that over two decades ago that I never dreamed of.
Most of all. Making memories with my mother in a positive way, taking time for self-care from what has been many stressful years.
Living the life, stepping outside of the comfort box slowly and easily.
There is so much more in the world to explore.
I will get there. Someday.
