As I have been living on my own for almost 7 years now, some things are still a struggle.
Some things are just common sense and are the reality of living on my own.
They’re expectations that need to be met all the time no matter what I’m going through.
It’s harder when you’re autistic and you’re adapting to a schedule that’s not always solid but you want things to happen the way you want but there’s struggles like dealing with transitions and getting settled from one thing to the next.
It can sometimes feel like you’re robbed of the time you wanted to have for yourself but couldn’t for other reasons.
It can seem unfair, but in the meantime others are just glad that you spent the time with them no matter how it went or what you did.
There will be time in the future to do things for you if you set your cards right.
It takes taking care of yourself in the moment no matter how unfair it may seem like it now, you know you need to do what you need to do to function in society and while that can be hard, down the road it will be worth it.
So take care of yourself and have a good evening knowing that doing the right thing matters because you are worth it in the end.
