Not Every Day Is Going to Be Good.

You’re going to have setbacks.

Having a broken sleep pattern, the night before.

Struggling to get out the door.

Not wanting to do what is needed to do.

You’re not going to adhere to what you know you need to do.

You’re going to accidentally spill the drink on the floor.

In the process of cleaning up that mess, the chips are going to fall too.

You’re going to have those challenging thoughts.

You’re going to overeat out of your emptions, stress, and lack of self-awareness and caring.

Yet, it provides the segway to get back on track.

You go to sleep and focus on staying asleep.

You get up, and see that weight gain, but don’t be frustrated.

Accept and acknowledge that you made a mistake, work on starting the day fresh.

Yet, be honest about the day before. Honest journaling and recordkeeping are key.

For so long, I did not want to admit it when I fell “off the wagon” with my plans.

Now I know that being honest about my struggles is key in making sure that I do not keep falling backward.

To paraphrase Scarlett O’Hara’s closing line in ‘Gone with The Wind’. “After all, today’s a new day.”

Today, we refocus on the new energy that we need to focus on. Being better because we need to.

Doing what’s right, for the right reasons, because it will make us feel better overall.

In my time, In My own way.
