Washington County GSA

The Washington County Gay Straight Alliance, Inc. facilitates and provides resources for a peer group of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Questioning, Queer, Asexual, and Allied (LGBTQA) youth. The organization also hosts 2nd Friday Nights Potluck, a monthly social gathering for the LGBTQA community of all ages. It is an unfortunate reality that in small towns and rural areas like Washington County there are not as many social opportunities or healthy lifestyle resources available to our youth and the LGBTQA population in general. The Gender and Sexual Development Program is an integrated and coordinated collaboration of the

Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine Pediatric Endocrinology. and Behavioral Health. The program serves children and youth (up to age 26) with questions around gender and sexual identity development, gender non-conforming behaviors, and transgender care. The Westmoreland County (PA) LGBTQ Interfaith Network is a group of people who affirm the spirituality of all LGBTQ people and their friends and allies. Our core message is that religious-based condemnation of LGBTQ people can cause great harm in our society.
