It’s been a busy two days.

Yesterday was our day service’s event for Mental Health awareness month.

It went pretty well and I was tired.

Around 1 AM this morning, I got a weather alert phone call about a Thunderstorm Warning.

Back to bed I got up late in the morning and discovered that I had no Internet Service.

After problem solving I discovered that my router was a victim of the storm last night.

I ordered one from our local supercenter and it was brought to me in short order.

Got it hooked up and back in service, all while getting some laundry done.

My mom called me to accompany her to the same store to buy a fitness tracker.

We went. I helped put her items in the cart as we checked out. Then I made a few other stops at a few other stores before going to their house, again helping her carry in the items she purchased.

All while she did what she needed to do I set up her new Fitbit and watched the horses race from Preakness on TV with my Dad before she brought me home.

This evening on the same night last year was the beginning of what would change the lives of our family forever.

My father has been through so much in the past year.

My Mom is his full time caregiver.

Yet she still tries to help me in any way she can.

I feel like I must do what I can do to make things go smoothly.

Yes it’s frustrating sometimes when I have to adapt to things that I don’t enjoy but sometimes that’s what you need to do to make things easier for others when they don’t have the energy to give me when there’s none to give.

I realized I have to step up my life entirely in the ways that I can to not be the person that I once was.

It’s about making memories, taking the time and always leaving things on a good note, better than you were.

In a way I’m sort of proud of myself for all the hard work that I’m doing because I know I can if I have the want and desire to do what I have set in mind.

Here’s to a better future with a better mindset than I thought I would ever have.
