Oftentimes when the weekend or down time is around me, there can be a tendency for irrational, intrusive or looping thoughts to be on my mind.
These thoughts can often overwhelm me and become the only thing I can think about without utilizing the skills that I’ve been taught multiple times to apply when I need to.
There are also multiple options that I have at my disposal to distract myself to something that is happier and healthier than negative thoughts and actions that destroy the day, weekend or whatever I have free.
Oftentimes when something is entertained for me to do, I often populate the ideas with baseless reasons and excuses why I can’t do it or that something bad is going to happen.
But what if I just did what I needed to do or took the steps and put myself out there and something good came out of it and made things better for me in the long run?
Deep down I know I have the power within me to do what I need to do to make myself better and overcome the challenges that I face.
Autism isn’t easy regardless where you lie on the spectrum, but what if things actually clicked for once and you put the skills or suggestions that was given to you into action when you had the chance to?
Wouldn’t it make things better for you and easier on everything else in your life?
Just give it a try. Maybe things will be better?
You’re worth it.
You matter.
You are loved.
You are enough.
