This past week, I have realized that continual care of my mental health by all necessary methods are essential to protect not only my mental health, but also it is necessary to navigate the challenges that life can randomly throw at us.
Often there is a belief that just because one day you are OK because you pass over one part of your mental health wellness regimen you believe that things are fine without all elements of your wellness regimen that are necessary for you to stay healthy. This includes both mental and physical as there has been more research developing that they go hand in hand.
However, having a disregard to do what is necessary to care for yourself may not appear at once, but eventually it will rear up at you. This is especially true when it comes to being autistic and the things that you are prescribed to be well are what helps you live the best quality of life that you can get. Even if initially, it may seem like not doing what is needed is working, it is important to be patient because there can be several factors where it may need to be proven whether something is needed or not.
If there is infinite understanding that things are more elevated when there are certain elements of the wellness regimen that are not included for some time, it will show. This has happened to me more than enough times and even though the message has never seemed to be received, it takes looking back and remembering or seeing when things were more challenging than what they needed to be.
There can be things in the brain that make us think about how things operate differently. But if there are proven to work, why would you want to rock the boat. If it is the fact that you may not enjoy some of the side effects of some of the treatments and indeed the treatments are otherwise allowing you to live your life as best as you can, then it is better to work on finding solutions to the side effects to make things at least more manageable than switching treatments that may hinder your wellness. Regardless of you know yourself best and what has been proven to work should remain in place unless you are being physically affected by it.
Sometimes it takes us to realize that we need to be more initiative-taking at doing the work necessary at combatting the side effects or barriers that we face regarding the treatment that is necessary for our mental health. If that requires us seeking additional help or reaching out to additional resources, then that is must be done. Just sitting in the status quo disregarding the issue at hand is only going to emulsify the issue that you are experiencing down the road, and it will never be put to rest if you do not address it.
Regardless, believing that treatments should be not adhered to the prescribed methods are only setting you up for a state of volatility and can cause an uneasy feeling around those that are around the individual. I have also experienced this several times and only have a certain amount of luck before it will be too late. There are things that have made me understand that all my mental health treatments are necessary and have been proven to work, regardless of the flawed thoughts that may appear in my mindset from time to time, there are just things that are crucial to my mental health.
The fact of the matter is that continual mental health treatment by adherence to the orders given is essential. Not adhering to the necessity of the regimens of treatment only hurts you and everyone else around you. Additionally, you cannot predict into the future where you will have that one or several things that are your breaking point where the things of which the treatment is prescribed for will no longer be effective and could damage so many things in your life without the ability to control yourself.
