Somedays it is just the simple things.
The day “off” where I am not pressured to adhere to a schedule.
Where I understand what needs to be completed.
Not feeling pressured to have to leave home for things like an appointment when every street leading to where I must go has road construction and alternatives like medical paratransit are not an option due to other things that need to be taken care of.
It was available for the appliance subcontractor to look at my stove after being out of commission for three weeks.
After the repair was made, I took a much-needed shower to regulate me and make yet another microwave box of noodles.
As the noodles are cooling down, my mother calls asking me if I have had dinner yet.
I state that the noodles are done, she asks if I want to go to Dairy Queen.
I replied that I can leave the noodles for work tomorrow and get ready to go to dinner with her.
After dinner she brings me home and because of having to wait all day, a short nap is in order. It is one of the things I now find necessary to manage the challenges I face every day along with the hot showers.
After which, my mind is in focus, and I am ready to close the day on a good note.
