At times it can be hard to imagine that I do have to be independently responsible for myself, it can seem like a monstrous responsibility yet to others seems so small. I have learned that I need to do the best that I can while being astute to the situation at hand.

For most of my life I have been under the supervision of someone. It can be hard to realize that there are now times when I need to budget and account for my own time. It honestly can be exceedingly difficult to do. It requires a lot of discipline for me and to be aware of many things like the time and what needs to be done in the day.

I know that there are things that must be done in the day, however there can be times when I become easily distracted and want to wander off the course of what needs to be done. I am extremely grateful for the life that I do have and the opportunities that are provided to me. Yet, there is always this wonder in my head if I am ever doing enough in my time of what needs to be done whether it is at home or at the workplace, it can be hard to be creative and find things that need to be done when there is not guided direction given to me.

It can be easy to be distracted and do things that are more interesting to me than what is needed to be done. They are necessary for maintaining a living and it can be hard to do those things because they may be more challenging because they do not bring the thrill that something that may be more enjoyable will. Yet, it takes mustering up the energy and doing what is necessary to get the responsibilities of something like employment and daily living tasks completed.

Alas, it sometimes takes a reward principle to get what needs to be done completed. That may be in terms of a special treat or other similar thing to provide a reward after doing things that are challenging and complex for me. There are times when I feel guilty having to live that way, but that is the way things are sometimes and as abrasive as it can be to be childish in nature by rewarding yourself something, it is sometimes what gets the job done and there is no shame in that.

It has taken a lot of maturity in the past few years, but I have managed to tread through the course of life quite well. I will admit that it hasn’t been easy, but I have gotten through the challenging times when thinking about the challenges that come with being able to manage myself when it is necessary to do so and learn what needs to be done in the course of the day whether it is at the workplace or at home, it can be done and will continue to be done.
