Given all of life’s circumstances, it can be difficult for us as human beings to cope with the challenges that life throws at us. Even more so throughout life, it can be challenging to stay on track with the things that keep us well because of perceived motions or thoughts that we have about something. It may mean that we need to take extra care of ourselves when things get tough, but that is what matters.

Part of being a responsible adult is doing the things that are required to be well. Sometimes there are perceived motions that doing things like taking medication for example cause side effects that we don’t think we can handle. But there are times when we can have a window and handle things if we take extra precautions for ourselves. It is part of what is necessary for staying on track and being honest with what we are doing.

In the grand scheme of things when life is ever changing, it is important to do things that keep you well, so you are able to manage life’s challenges, not just because you want to, but because you need to and it is important to your daily life. It may not seem so at that point, but having stability in things that have not been for a long time and keeping necessary documentation of what is going on is ever so crucial for making your concerns known.

You cannot properly address something that is going on if you do not do what you need to do on your behalf by being honest and accurate to see if something is going on that does need to be addressed. You don’t know if it is something from being off and on so much or the fact that you are doing what you need to do and what you think is happening is.

This is especially true when you know that you have the time to reserve should you need to deal with the side effects of something or when you have already taken so much time for what has happened that you are documenting what has happened. You cannot know that it is the culprit behind what is truly happening and being the culprit behind the effects of what needs to be addressed.

It takes knowing that being independent as an autistic adult such as myself means that it comes with the responsibility of being honest and actually doing what is needed for me to do what is actually needed when I have the opportunity to do so, even if I don’t feel that I want to because I don’t want to be bothered to see if there is actually an issue or the fact that I need to give things a chance to let things happen for once and see if they are actually the culprit of what is happening.

Sometimes it takes nursing us to where we need to be so we can be the best that we can be whether we want to believe we can handle it. It is also when we are getting ready for a big change that we will never be ourselves when we don’t do what is needed to stay on track. We must also recognize the fact that when we need to take extra care of ourselves, we do so, no matter what.

Falling off the track is not the answer to what we must do because we feel that we “owe” it to ourselves for all the times that we do not care for ourselves. We must recognize that we will never be able to stay on track if we don’t do what we need to do to stay on track in the first place. This is especially true if we do not allow ourselves to care for us, especially when we have the time to do so and get in denial about it.

We must remember that there is no health without our mental health and that it is important for us to care for ourselves even we may not want to because there are times when we may need extra care and we are all entitled to have the care that we need to be able to function in society and be our best.
