Gifting this book to my mother for one occasion or another, Carrie Cariello is no stranger to our family’s reading catchment. My mother often relates the author’s autistic son’s traits to many of mine and likewise I do enjoy her writing and writing style and find it very relatable. This work, while I was expecting the repeat of the author’s past work was in no such way and shown the many sides of marriage in not only how it effects raising someone with autism but how the challenges of life can be dauting, including having a gay son, something that I was able to relate to along with understanding how important it is to continue to keep the faith and understanding of how important a good marriage can be kept, no matter how messy it can sometimes be, even as being autistic can get in the way. Having fresh content from the author made the book a interesting read and wanting to dive in despite not being married but as the autistic son that had spent most of three decades under my parents roof before flying the coop myself and being on my own now, this shows that even as autistic children come of age and develop their own lives that they can have their hurdles just as I have some years ago. I highly recommend this book.
