In the past two years due to family circumstances, my life has changed drastically. While it has made my family stronger, it has also made me stronger. I have learned to accept things easier because of the reality of what is happening. Some things just have to be what they are. Learning that others are crucial for my mental health and well-being.
Over the past few years, many changes have occurred. These changes made me brave and pushed me to do things I thought I would never do. They also made me anxious. It also strengthened my walk with the Lord by improving my relationship with Him. It kept me grounded mentally. Now, I am living my best life yet. I am making this the year that I have a better relationship with the Lord. I will turn my life around for the better once and for all.
I understood that no two people are the same nor is anyone perfect. Mistakes do happen and things can happen. Speaking up when you need to can be crucial. I have gained a better understanding of people. This understanding comes from knowing those who entered my life in the past few years. They are getting to know me, and I am getting to know them. I have also realized that I need to express concerns or things bothering me to the appropriate person. I should do this in the best way I can. If they don’t know, they won’t realize it is an issue until it becomes a real problem. This adversely affect me and sometimes others.
These things show that my parents are aging. Life has changed significantly. I understand they don’t often have the power to make things the way I want them to be. I had to be strong and do what was needed. I fought through the fears that I experienced out of necessity. I learned that as long as my needs are met, I can get through things. Feeling safe is also necessary for this. I also know that it is important to care for myself. They do not need the hassles of me doing pointless and destructive things. These actions make life more chaotic for them when it’s not needed.
I also had to understand that life is what I make it. Holding on to the past and things that no longer serve me is not the way to be living. As things changed and firmed up, I was reassured that the things bringing me stress and anxiety will not happen. I realized I had to replace everything I dwelled on from the past with what brings joy to my life. I learned that although it wasn’t the life I or anyone else pictured at this point, it was pretty good. It deserves the effort to make it the best it can be.
