Book Review: Coping With Coronavirus – How to Stay Calm and Protect Your Mental Health (by Dr. Brendan Kelly)

This read, which I found through my local library has helped me with some insight to enlighten my Concentrating On COVID blogs each week. As we know, we are nearing the second year of the Coronavirus Pandemic and as such, it has taken a severe toll on the mental health of many.

This simple book, gives an insight of the origins of Coronavirus and how it spread to the rich nations of the world to the point it literally shut the nation down. The book gives sound advice about finding out updates about the virus and the need to limit your news watching and the need to take care more of your mental health by using sound holistic and Buddhist approaches to returning your mental health to a more positive approach and not getting overly anxious or letting your mental spiral out of control before it too late and the world crumbles in around you.

Rating: 4.5/5

I rated this book 4.5 out of 5 as I felt it was rather wordy and did not offer more traditional holistic methods of coping with one’s mental health and leaned more toward Buddhist ways of thinking, however that is a difference of opinion on my part. Otherwise, it was a pretty good read and gave me some insight of where to take my COVID blogs from this point.
