Over the past several years, I realized the necessity of patience in my mental health recovery. It is crucial to not back down from what needs to be done, regardless of how I feel. It takes effort to let go of the hard feelings and my past feelings. I realized that is not the way I want or need to feel. I had to be patient in getting back on my feet. I maintained momentum, knowing that it is for the best.
At the beginning of doing what is necessary, it can be hard to recognize its importance. It’s crucial not to give in to regression. You feel that doing what isn’t the best is the best course of action, but it isn’t. I struggled to understand my feelings at first. I found it hard to see that consistency with necessary tasks would eventually pay off. You need to do what is necessary, no matter the challenges. Understand that mistakes happen. It’s important to do what is right for the correct reasons, once and for all.
It can be hard to recognize the importance of being patient. Giving yourself grace when it is difficult is also challenging. Yet, doing so helps things become more settled. In the end, you and others will notice the progress that needs to happen. Repeating the same old cycles and performing the same acts that bring you down will get you the same result. You may think it will be different, but it won’t. Sometimes your mind tricks you. You believe things are what they are because you think they are working for you. In reality, it is hard to see that things actually need time to work. Consistency is required before a true evaluation can be given. Most importantly, things ordered by a medical professional must not be tampered with. This should be understood above nearly everything else.
It takes time to change a behavior. It also takes time to make it a habit. Doing what is right once and for all requires effort. I am tired of repeating the same old cycle and seeing the same unwanted results. This realization has made me want to change for the better. I want to start doing what is right. I understand I got nowhere by doing the same things that led me down a detrimental path.
It can be hard to say goodbye to the things that you thought you liked. But, reality needs to set in. It is important to do what is right for me. This is crucial for the sanity and expectation of others that depend on me being my best. Letting go of what hurt me is necessary. Doing what is best for me to be my best is essential. Accepting reality can be difficult. Temptations arise to do otherwise. Yet, choosing the right path is always the best decision. Being patient and doing what is best takes persistence. Keeping on in the process matters more when it comes to taking care of your mental health. It takes more than just saying it; it requires doing it too.
