At times, I have found my own joy. This happens when learning to cope with things that are difficult. These challenges are not always easy to understand. It can be the simple things and the silver lining that bring smiles to my face. These moments allow me to get through difficult and challenging times. My brain doesn’t always allow me to believe that I am going to be fine.
In the littlest ways, I find what brings a smile to my face when I need it. It can sometimes make or break my mood. It demonstrates to me that if I continue the efforts needed to reach my goals, I will be okay. Things will work out as they often do. Fear can drive worry and make excuses for avoiding tasks. If I am patient, things will happen naturally. Those tasks bring me the joy I need. They also bring brightness to my life. By doing what is necessary, I can make things happen as they should be. Joy just makes those things easier to have them come to fruition.
Seeing the things that others don’t often think as joy can be transformative. These joys help us realize our ability to get through challenges. Conditions like anxiety and being autistic reveal our potential. They show us that we can overcome difficult situations and become our best selves. We feel confident and great when doing what is needed. This is often because the joy that we are experiencing cancels out the detrimental feelings. These feelings often hold us back or cause us to run away from something beneficial. These events be good for us or needed to bring necessary things into our lives.
Others can question why we find joy in certain things. Yet it is not up to them to decide if we can let it serve us in that way. As long as we are happy, safe, and satisfied with ourselves, no one else should squash our feelings. It is not up to others to take away the joy we are experiencing. This joy helps us be our best self. It regulates us and allows us to get through difficult situations. It prevents fear from holding us back from doing unwanted things.
Joy is often one of the things that come to mind when facing difficult situations. These situations bring up emotions and make us contemplate possibilities. We believe that the worst can happen. Yet joy can inspire determination to fight fear. It helps us manage other feelings. We hold on and do what we need to do. In the end, being patient and allowing things to unfold proves to be worthwhile.
Fear often holds us back. But, it can also highlight the things that bring us joy. It makes us feel good about ourselves and gives us the confidence to get through difficult times. By having the determination and strong will, we can do what it takes. We become our best selves and achieve what we knew we do all along.
