Over 40 years of experience in going to church at various points and places. Sometimes the road leads you back. It takes you to where you started first in your hometown. I lost my sight in some ways with Christianity during COVID. My mother and I decided to return to church 3 years ago. Since then, I’ve gained a better understanding of parts of Christianity. I’ve observed how they impact my life and the lives of others, although I had seen this happen before. Although everyone does not want to understand this part of my life, it keeps me grounded. It helps in being a better Christian in 2026.

Having Faith

I had not truly understood the concept of having faith until recently. I saw it demonstrated in a children’s message at church. That moment showed me why it is important to have faith. It involves having faith and trust. You must believe that things will happen as they should, and they will work out. It has significantly helped me combat my anxiety. I am now in a better place than before. I have realized that if something is meant to be, it will find its way to work itself out.

A few years ago, I did not want to switch to county paratransit shared ride. Still, I believed it would work out. Even when some things were in limbo, I kept my faith. Then, it became a covered destination under the Medical Assistance Transportation Program (MATP) at the beginning of the year. I had faith that day services would continue when the same programs no longer existed. It was because of having the already forged connection and then things actually working out. But if I had lost the faith, I would not have wanted to run away from it many times. I continue to hold the faith that things would work out.

Faith is what sustains us when we doubt success. It takes believing that if something is meant to work out, then it will. If it doesn’t, then it doesn’t. There have been things that I have wanted to do. Sometimes, I realize they weren’t meant to be or work in the long term. It takes having faith that things will work out even when there is doubt about success. Hold faith even through setbacks. Know that God will direct you in the right direction. This can lead to prosperity and reality.

Knowing that God Has a Plan

Through the many struggles of myself and others, I have always believed that God has a plan. When things don’t work out, I trust He will find another way for things to work out. I have seen this work out in many ways in the past. Even when I was in the worst of ways, I had the power to pick myself back up. Things happened to make that a reality. Sometimes, it was just telling someone that there would be a way for things to work out. Then, the phone would ring, and an opportunity would arise for that person. Knowing someone who can give you the stepping stone you need helps you reach your final destination. I know that things will work out. For one reason or another, I have allowed myself to believe there is a plan for them to work out.

In closing, this is just the way that I have interpreted things to be. I have begun to understand that having the Lord in my life will lead me to being mentally well. It will also put me on the path to having the relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ in 2026.
