So often the world around us wants to bring us down. All our brains want us to think about is what is wrong with us or the world around us. It can be so hard to get out of the state of negative thinking or self-talk. We can often have our own pity-party. We even want to bring others down in our misery. Sometimes others want to bring us down in their misery too. But we need to look at the brighter side of life to get us going. This can make our day the best that it can be.
Without a doubt, there has been much in my life that I have complained about. I have made myself feel miserable about things I think should or should not be happening. The reality is that I had to learn that I can only control what I do. Sometimes I need to make the best of my day by being my best self. There can be factors that try to bring us down. They aim to make us feel bad about ourselves. However, it’s important to know that we are much more than what we sometimes think about ourselves. There can be good in all of us.
I used to think that there was so much in my life that just made my life terrible. Life these last few years has been different in many ways. I am learning how to choose to make the best of things. I do this by choosing to see the best of what I have to go through. I do not let the problems or wrongs in the world get in my way. They won’t make me feel miserable about myself. There are many things to live for beyond what my brain can consider at any given moment. Stewing in my own or others’ misery is not always the best way to handle things.
Sometimes, seeing the small things in life is necessary. These small things bring even the slightest bit of joy. This joy helps us get through our days. We need it when we think the world is against us. We also need it when everything is not going our way. I have lived through many days that were much worse than now. Remembering those days can sometimes get me through hard times. This is besides seeing the small things.
We have many resources at our disposal. We can train ourselves to see the brighter side of things. This perspective helps us get through hard times. We do so by focusing on the positives instead of choosing to see what burdens us or makes us miserable. We are so much more than our misery or our problems. We can see the brighter side. We can overcome the battles we face in life. It takes knowing that there is always tomorrow and that life indeed is worth living, always.
