For many years, I didn’t allow myself to believe I had the power to do certain things. Even when doing the right thing, I wasn’t willing to see that things work. I tried to prove my beliefs wrong, thinking it wasn’t possible. I wasn’t willing to test if it was possible by doing the right things to be well. I also didn’t try what I thought I couldn’t do by being well. Eventually, by setting things right with myself and making time for my desires, I had the best of both worlds.
For decades I had allowed myself to believe that things couldn’t happen. I never really knew what I was doing until later in life. As a result, that never became a reality. But I had long allowed myself to believe it was possible only by doing things I knew weren’t right. I believed that way was the only possibility. But in fact, it took perfecting the techniques needed for a healthy outcome. I realized that if I believed in my power and wish to do what was necessary, it was possible. I allow myself to do what I wanted while taking care of my mental health without sacrifice.
I am constantly obsessed with how I spend my time. I don’t allow myself to think there is never enough time. I don’t feel constantly robbed of what I want. I had to make things work in the best way for me. I needed to make sure that what I wanted to do was done in a healthy manner. It was important that it didn’t become too obsessive. This approach was crucial to not let it interfere with caring for my mental health. After I realized the importance of prioritizing my mental health, I knew my plans should include what I truly wanted. I grasped the need for alignment with my true desires. I was determined to do what I wanted. I strove to prove myself wrong and let go of the thoughts I believed in throughout my adult life. I realized it was indeed possible if I allowed myself to believe in the possibility.
I spent decades not being educated about what was possible. Eventually, I allowed myself to believe something I longed to do was possible. Still, I believed it only happen if I neglected to care for myself. This was one of my biggest regrets. I allowed myself to make the decisions I made in the past for specific reasons. But as I learned at the beginning of the year, we can’t do anything about the mistakes we have made. We can use them as a learning experience and move on with our lives. In the moment, we see that we have the opportunity to do as we wish. This is possible if we allow ourselves to take care of ourselves. We must make time for what we want to happen. We must recognize that we too deserve the best of both worlds.
