Life can be hard sometimes. The systems that are meant to support us can have their own challenges. Sometimes it can be hard to face the challenges. It is necessary to overcome what we must go through to achieve the things we must do. Being autistic isn’t always easy for us. Yet, I am ever resilient and show that it’s important to never give up. Life and systems can be challenging at times. We must manage ourselves in the best way possible so we continue moving onward and never give up.

Managing ourselves can be hard. Our life and systems are often stacked against us. This makes the way we have to do things difficult. It can be frustrating when we want to have things taken care of. Sometimes, it requires us to be a little more patient. We must learn to cope with how we carry ourselves to get what we need done. It can be hard, but we push through. Even as it overwhelms us from time to time, I can still be resilient. I will do it no matter what it takes because I know that I have to.

You often hear that no one is as determined to get what they want as an autistic person. Whether that is getting employment or just wanting to belong in this world, they take necessary actions. It often requires more steps than it does for our neurotypical peers. Yet, they make sure they pursue what is desired. They go for what they feel they want or need. They just often want to exist as they can in ways that our neurotypical peers do. But far too often, the world is set up to make us as autistic people jump through more hoops. It takes more time for us to do things. Our neurotypical peers can often acquire these things at a much speedier pace.

It can be frustrating to deal with system challenges or when things are harder for us. I often realize I wouldn’t be capable of managing without certain things in place. Thus, I take necessary actions to cope with challenges to the best of my ability. I know I can’t take some of these things for granted. It is often best not to blame those in the systems. They are often not at fault. They can share the same frustration. It is often not just their living but also their passion. They are doing their best to exist in this world. They strive to make it through what must be endured.

Granted, I have been through the systems for a long time and have endured a lot in the past. There has been a shift intended for the good of the people. Still, it does not necessarily come without challenges. It is known that things are still going to arise in life. We as humans must be willing to accept these challenges. We must be willing to withstand and cope. We need to use the best of our abilities to exist in this world.
