Last Night…Christmas Eve.

I knew our churches were having a candlelight service.

It was at the sister church…somewhere I have never been.

I knew my mother wanted to go, but I was resistant, trying to hold off.

Mother called and said to get ready, I didn’t want to, but I didn’t want a fight.

Because that isn’t what you do on Christmas Eve.

I won’t lie that on the approach to her car, a not-so-nice gesture may have been given.

As we arrived at the church and got into our seats, my fears were lifted and things just seemed like any other service, just in a different church.

While it was longer with communion and the lighting of the candles, in the end, it was something that I was proud of overcoming and just doing.

If I could just not act so childish in the beginning and just go and do what is suggested.

I may have came straight home and got ready for bed, but it was worth it!

“Autistic people have challenges in their own ways, are different from person to person causing them to be managed and cope with in their very own ways that help the person best.!”
