Members Share : Daylight Savings Time is Approaching, how are you going to adjust to it?

For Daylight Savings Time it is a struggle at first to get used to but I remember the need to take my medicine on a consistent schedule along with getting to bed a decent hour and waking up near the
time the alarm goes off. Many of the clocks in the house change themselves, however; many do still need changing. One thing I will miss as we “fall back” this year is the Book Sale by the friends of the Carnegie Library in Connellsville as when the clocks usually change twice a year they have a fill a bag sale that is well attended. It was one of the last things that we did pre-COVID

Having the Incentive to Be Motivated

As you remember, last week I went to the doctor. The latter part of our conversation was a heart to heart about becoming healthy by watching my food intake and moving more throughout the day. She made a mini challenge to me to lose some weight in six months as a inspiration to become more healthy in the long term. I upped that incentive with my mother by us each setting a specific amount of weight to lose in six months and if we reach our goals. We would purchase mountain bikes from the local bike shop in town for exploration on the bike trail. We have been exercising all last week on a variance of days last week. For the bike trail, we increased the distance we would travel out and back by moving to the next bench north of where we were the previous time we visited the trail. That alone is a incentive to do better by seeing new things on the trail and getting a good talk or two in (a walking partner does help.) It inspires me when we advance further in our walking journey. However, at times I need to stop at more benches on the return trip back to the car. I know before long I will reach that goal!
