Wellness Wednesday: Delivery Dangers

A few weeks ago, I got into a phase. It was something that made life easier but while it is a good invention, it was something that I realized for my physical health isn’t the best choice and while it may be convenient to do because having food of all kinds at your front door, I somehow know that there is a value to eating in an establishment more often than I was.

Wellness Wednesday: Change of Scenery

As we approach the eve of the Fall Equinox, I have been thinking of ways to better intertwine nature into activities of wellness. Being outdoors makes me feel better and there is nothing like the air hitting your face at a time of year like the shoulder season.

Wellness Wednesday: Goal-Driven

The past month has been very good for me in the fact of being well. I am losing weight very consistently and as such I am setting goals for intervals so I can be accountable for myself in between the times I meet the accountability of the weekly weigh-in. Doing so has proven well and as such gives me the drive to keep the journey up and moving forward.

Wellness Wednesday: Better Changes

Last week, I had the opportunity to begin monthly consultations with a nutritionist through a collaboration between my day program and the local community action concern. It was an insightful meeting where I learned to make better changes to improve my health.

Wellness Wednesday: Making Swaps

As I am continuing down my personal wellness journey, I am experiencing new and exciting changes to the lifestyle that can have an additional benefit to my overall health as a result of switching or swapping things out in the process of general consumption of nourishment that has been proven successful in the long run of having the outcome I desire as I progress in my journey.

Wellness Wednesday: Progress Works!

Another week in the books and another opportunity to measure the progress I have been making in over a week by incorporating more changes to my regimens. They are creating change and I could not be happier of the progress I am making as a result of making simple changes and creating new habits.

Wellness Wednesday: Small Strides, Small Progress

Well again, I am met with another accountability point. Two months ago I was given firm medical advice to get my weight under control as there were alot of factors related to my obesity that were not favorable. I was pleased to hear that I made good progress, but the journey is not over.

Wellness Wednesday: Appreciating Non-Scale Victories

Recently, because of the efforts I have put forth in working towards losing weight to being healthier, I am beginning to see some Non-Scale Victories (NSVs). Non-scale victories, also known as NSVs, are health improvements that result from small life changes. They may go unnoticed if you're only focused on the scale as a measure of your success. A bathroom scale shows a number — a snapshot of your weight at a given moment on a given day.

Wellness Wednesday: It Has To “Click”

When embarking on a weight loss journey as I have been attempting for about two decades, I have discovered that there has to be that moment that the desire to lose weight has to “click” within your thought process in order to get the process moving and engaged toward progress. Within myself, the switch has clicked to the need and desire to take the fact that I need to lose weight seriously.

Wellness Wednesday: Expanding My Opportunities

The wellness journey continues. Wellness in general is never ending and is the catalyst in making sure that your body is functioning properly. Sometimes you need to work on things to improve your ability to see more progress. Over the past week or so, I have been striving to expand many things into my overall wellness regimen.
