Wellness Wednesday: Small Strides, Small Progress

Well again, I am met with another accountability point. Two months ago I was given firm medical advice to get my weight under control as there were alot of factors related to my obesity that were not favorable. I was pleased to hear that I made good progress, but the journey is not over.

Wellness Wednesday: Appreciating Non-Scale Victories

Recently, because of the efforts I have put forth in working towards losing weight to being healthier, I am beginning to see some Non-Scale Victories (NSVs). Non-scale victories, also known as NSVs, are health improvements that result from small life changes. They may go unnoticed if you're only focused on the scale as a measure of your success. A bathroom scale shows a number — a snapshot of your weight at a given moment on a given day. 

Wellness Wednesday: Learning To Savor

As many know, I had a good start to losing weight in 2022, however it came with a setback this past week into this current week. I am hoping to get back on track as I have a saving grace that will pave the way forward towards me getting to my goals for 2022.

Monday night was one of those days. It was the usual Mondays, off to work a stop at the day program to check in and then later in the afternoon to TOPS. TOPS, short for Take Off Pounds Sensibly, has been in existence for over 70 years and has a mission of being a non-profit and helping people Take and eventually Keep Off Pounds Sensibly.

Wellness Wednesday: Taking Care of IT

The past week and the entire month of July has been a challenge in regards to me losing weight. For a while I had the thought of “I don’t care what anyone thinks,” kind of attitude. It proved me wrong. The answer that I think that I need to get me back on track with both weight loss and also being well is to cut the soda.

Wellness Wednesday: One Last Time, Hopefully It’s for Real

I have talked about my soda addiction on and off on my blog for some time and I have to admit until three days ago I have had a real bad addiction and I knew it. From the moment I woke up in the morning I had to have that rush of caffeine. It led my life in what I did in my life in every given moment, what I had with my meals. It became addictive as it is and challenging at the same time.
